What is CPaaS?

CPaaS stands for Communications Platform as a Service. Put simply, a CPaaS is a cloud based platform that enables real-time communications, such as voice calls and instant messaging, to be integrated into developer’s own applications. CPaaS enables developers to seamlessly integrate communications features without the need to build backend infrastructure or interfaces.

Legacy solutions have not enabled this seamless integration, and traditionally real-time communications (RTC) have only been accessible from applications that were built specifically for them. Legacy solutions therefore require hardware, which is accompanied by the associated hardware restrictions – including implementation costs, software licenses, and time-consuming upgrades. For a long time, Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) were from completely separate industries. Now, the gap between the two is closing, and the two solutions can be deployed together, as an integrated service.

What is CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service)

Due to the hardware costs and restrictions, these dedicated real-time communication applications, including desk phones and Skype, were for a long time only available to large businesses with bigger budgets. The transformation of communications solutions to the cloud has eliminated the need for any hardware, and has therefore opened up the solutions to businesses of all sizes, with any size budget.

A CPaaS enables users to benefit from the integration of real-time communications into their business systems, without having to spend the time or money building the framework themselves. The CPaaS integrations typically offer software tools, APIs and pre-built applications, as well as constantly available tech support from the providers, in case of any technical problems at any stage of development.

The benefits of cloud based communications platforms and CPaaS solutions include their high availability and accessibility to companies of all sizes, no CapEx and lower overall costs, affordable pay-as-you-go pricing models, high security, the capacity to support multi-tenancy and constant tech support.

Dubber’s core offering is CPaaSAs a native cloud solution, Dubber has been built as a communication platform where new and innovative products can be designed and deployed as product offerings.

Through our CPaaS, users can benefit from our call recording and voice analytics solutions, deployed from a real-time communications platform, at a fraction of the cost and difficulty of legacy solutions. Ultimately, this organises communication forms onto a single platform and increases their accessibility, whilst maximising their value by bringing the insight of intelligent voice diagnostics to all recorded conversations.
